- What excites you most about your PIRE research?
This project is a great opportunity to work in collaboration with people from different academic backgrounds and research experiences. The opportunity to apply my research to make an impact on the lives of selected communities is an essential aspect of the PIRE project. Furthermore, the fact that the research focuses on addressing the water resource challenges facing communities in Ethiopia makes this experience all the more rewarding as I can contribute my part towards addressing the knowledge gap on water resource literature on the country and meet the overall objective of the project.
- What’s the most valuable aspect of your research for the people and communities?
My research which will focus on assessing women’s knowledge and experience in the access and utilization of water resources can highlight the existing gaps on the issue and contribute to the development of a comprehensive approach toward the inclusion of women in water resource management and governance. Hence, women’s position in their communities, their knowledge and lived experiences, involvement and active participation in water related projects will be central aspect of my research that I hope to inform discussions and policy formulations at the local and international level.
