Research focus: water resources systems modeling: simulation and optimization with emphasis on water resources assessment and allocation on basin and catchment scale, hydrological modeling, and remote sensing data applications.
What excites you most about your PIRE research?
The PIRE research project will develop new insights and tools that are critical to developing the water resources in the Blue Nile basin, the most important river basin in Ethiopia, in a sustainable manner. Sustainable water resources management is key in achieving food security and reducing poverty, and in bringing economic growth and development in the country.
What’s the most valuable aspect of your research for the people and communities?
The output of the research being implemented on the grassroots level and solving the real world problems that communities are facing.
