Research focus: Identification of groundwater potential zones using GIS and remote sensing integration method in Branti watershed, Dangila, Ethiopia
What excites you most about your PIRE research?
I am excited to do my research using fine resolution satellite data and learn with the help of my internal and external advisors to conduct my research in a good manner. Above all I am excited to publish my work in well-known international journals to disseminate and announce my findings to people interested for information in my area of interest.
What’s the most valuable aspect of your research for the people and communities?
After the research is conducted and the potential zone are identified, the farmers will be able to dig wells or boreholes easily without incurring cost for sites which have limited groundwater. Governmental and non- governmental bodies responsible for groundwater drilling may get valuable information at my study area including the most governing factors that affect the ground water potential and information on the area which gets higher priority to be drilled because of its high potential.
