Research focus: crop modeling
- What excites you most about your PIRE research? The PIRE research combines crop modelling with climate, surface water, groundwater as well as social economics. I am excited to be part of this challenging, innovative and multidisciplinary project .
- What’s the most valuable aspect of your research for the people and communities? My research focuses on the simulation of crop growth and development in the Blue Nile Basin (BNB), Ethiopia. It helps us to systematically understand the different crops growth patterns in this area, providing valuable information to farmers and decision makers to optimize the sowing, fertilizer application and irrigation patterns to increase the local harvest and save water.
