What excites you most about your PIRE research?
The current generation is facing the unavoidable consequences of climate change. Specially, in a country like Ethiopia whose economy relies upon agricultural products, the effect of climate change is very high. As a meteorological entity, our agency needs to be informed of the level of changes in different meteorological parameters. My directorate, Data and Climatology Directorate, should take the lead in the Agency to inform things mentioned above.
What’s the most valuable aspect of your research for the people and communities?
The Agricultural community in our country must see the way to adapt or mitigate the unavoidable consequences of climate change. Our research would have the capability of informing and creating awareness on the public level, about climate change and ways to adapt in terms of meteorological study and parameters.
